Green Young Economy (GYE)
GYE is an impact-driven design and innovation lab that I founded and led in Brussels. My team and I used design thinking to help business, civil society and policy leaders co-create sustainable development solutions.
We designed and ran programs that brought together young and senior leaders from diverse sectors and industries to co-design innovations and policies for sustainable development.
An exciting initiative to which we helped shape was Future Earth, a ten-year global research and innovation initiative announced at Rio+20 and sponsored by the Science and Technology Alliance for Global Sustainability (UNESCO, UNEP, International Science Council, United Nations University and more).
During the 2013 Future Earth Bidders conference in Paris, GYE suggested designing the first Future Earth secretariat based on network science principles, which would have generated advantages in terms of operations, fundraising, and capillary impact. A globally-distributed structure was later implemented and is currently in place.
